Pricing:$25.00 per 30-minute lesson
No lessons will be scheduled during the following school vacation
breaks: Thanksgiving (November 21-24), Winter Recess (December 23-January 6), and Spring Break (March 25-30). Summer lessons are available with flexible scheduling to accommodate camps and family vacations.
In case of illness or emergency, please call me before
your lesson time. I will arrange a make-up within the week or during a school break.
If you need to cancel due to schedule conflicts, I require 24-hour advance notice. I will reschedule the lesson only if time permits. Lessons missed without prior notice will not be made up. You are responsible for the full tuition payment each month; there will be no refunds for canceled lessons.
A regular practice schedule is vitally important to successful study.
Each student has an assignment book, and is asked to record his or her practice days in the book. The following practice time five to six days per week is suggested: beginning students – 15-20 minutes; elementary school students – 20-30 minutes; junior and senior high students – 45-60 minutes. Practice may be split into several shorter sessions per day.
Parents can help the piano student by taking the time each week to
listen to the child’s practice and praise his effort and progress. For beginners, it is helpful to go over the assignment with them for the first months of lessons. Please make sure that students bring all of their current music and their assignment notebooks to each lesson. Parents are welcome to observe lessons, but if you have questions or concerns it is best to discuss them with me by phone. Students need to have a well-maintained instrument located where they can practice free from distractions. Pianos should be tuned at least once a year.
Students will perform in a spring recital, and may be asked to
participate in other recitals, festivals, or exams during the school year. Details will be
provided several weeks in advance.
